the final corner: a retrospective

nothing

painted

framed

electrical wired, wall paneled, everything set up!

The final corner: downstairs wall and lights

Al wired in lighting, outlets and a switch on the wall that borders our bedroom

put cool light bulbs in

and covered the wall in pallet shingles

siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick

The final corner: downstairs tool/workspace

Al made a little work table for under the stairs

it's going to be where he stashes his tools and can work on things/spread out projects

he also put in a little pull string light above it

The final corner: upstairs lighting

Al ran the wiring for lighting upstairs

which were made out of tin cans!

these were tomato cans and so the insides are stained redish which gives the compact florecents a nice warm glow

there's two by the cubbies

and three more across the space

The final corner: upstairs cubbies

Al made some cubbies for me to store my sewing stuff

took down the section of wall where they would live...
put em in!

fabric and sewing supplies galore!

then we moved my machines upstairs

and it's done for now!

the final corner: part 1 framing and some carpet

Al started building out the final corner while I was in Switzerland here's what is looked like before I left:
and when I got back from my trip....:So now there's a lofted area where my sewing machines and supplies will live along with his drum kit. Under the stairs is going to be a little work table and tool storage. We aren't sure about the right side wall maybe a bike stand, maybe bike storage and I still have that bench swing that I don't know if we will even end up having a spot for.

here's the view from up there

we got some carpet from the White Elephant Sale

OG jar lights

Some of you may remember the jar lights I had at Safety First House a couple years ago that were hanging above me and Al's bed. They were the lights that started our jar lighting frenzy!

Anywho, I finally unpacked them and put them in our hallway...it's just icicle lights smooshed into various jars.
